There are few more famous actors in the world than Tom Cruise. The 59-year-old has won three Golden Globes during his prestigious career and has been widely acclaimed for his performances in some of the most commercially successful films over the past two decades. He is a global superstar and is often mobbed whenever he appears in public.

Cruise recently worked on the latest Mission Impossible movie in Birmingham, England, and as reported by We Love Brum, the Hollywood star certainly enjoyed her time in the city, visiting a renowned curry house. But what lesser-known cruise movies should fans watch if they haven’t already?

Rock of ages

Tom Cruise hasn’t just appeared in action movies throughout his career, having tried his hand at a musical in the 2012 release of Rock of Ages. The film, based on the Broadway show of the same name, sees Cruise playing Stacee Jaxx and appears alongside a leading cast, which also includes Julianne Hough, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Mary J. Blige and Alec. Baldwin.

Cruise was widely acclaimed for his vocals in the film, as he performed classics such as “Wanted Dead or Alive” and “Pour Some Sugar On Me”. The film was a worldwide hit, grossing $ 59 million at the box office. Additionally, the soundtrack that accompanied the film was also number one on Billboard’s soundtrack charts following its release.

All the good initiatives

One of the first films that Cruise starred in was called All The Right Moves, and it came out in 1983. Cruise played the film’s main character, Stefan Djordjevic. The film follows the fallout from an American football defeat to Djordjevic’s college and the fallout with the coach, played by Craig T. Nelson.

The trainer attempts to blackmail the character of Cruise before later admitting he was wrong and offering Djordjevic a scholarship to the new college where he works. It was one of Cruise’s most disappointing box office showings, with the film costing just over $ 17 million. However, it received largely positive reviews from experts.

Legend

Legend was another of Cruise’s first releases, as it hit theaters in 1985. Although it wasn’t a huge commercial hit, taking just $ 23.5 million, a million less than budget , it has stood the test of time. and is now revered as a cult classic. The film won several awards, including the award for Best Cinematography the same year it was released by the British Society of Cinematographers. Cruise played Jack O ‘the Green and appeared alongside Mia Sara, Tim Curry, and David Béat in the film.

Cruise withstood stiff competition to be the film’s main character, defeating Jim Carey, Robert Downey Jr, and Johnny Depp. After nearly 20 years, the director’s cut was released on DVD in 2002, before the the ultimate edition was released in May 2011. It continues to be a popular film with science fiction fans.
