Hyderabad: Livestock, Fisheries and Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas reviewed preparations for the Bonalu Festival celebrations at Golconda Fort on Tuesday. The celebrations in Golconda will take place on June 30.
“The Bonalu Festival represents the diverse culture of Telangana. The government plans to stage the celebrations in a grand way,” the minister said during the review with local MP Kausar Mohiuddin.
The celebrations in Secunderabad will be held on July 17 and in Hyderabad on July 24, the minister informed.
Talasani said measures are being taken by various departments to ensure that worshipers do not encounter any problems during the celebration. “26 temples as well as the Jagadamba Mahakali temple in Golconda will receive ceremonial vestments from the state government on the occasion of Bonalu. 800 police including its teams and CCTV surveillance will be in place to ensure the celebration goes off without a hitch,” he said.
The minister further said that 8 areas around Golconda Fort are identified for parking and 14 areas are identified to divert traffic. “8.75 lakh water packets and 55,000 bottles of water will be made available by the water utility. Four ambulances and five medical camps will be available to the public,” he informed.
Talasani asked the officials to repair the roads if necessary on a war footing and asked them to check for leaks in the sewers. He also asked officials to organize special RTC buses during the festival.
