Akshaye Khanna has always played his cards carefully. Over a career spanning more than 2 decades, the actor has delivered some of the most entertaining films of all time. However, physical appearance can be a crucial factor in getting the meaty roles in Bollywood.
In several interviews, Akshaye had spoken about her appearance, including her experience of premature baldness. The 47-year-old actor explained his early baldness and said it started at a very young age.
In a 2020 interview with Midi, the Hulchal actor opened up about his looks and his hair, comparing him to a pianist losing his fingers.
He said: “It started happening to me at such a young age, for me it was like a pianist losing his fingers. It was really like that for me, back then, until you accepted it and it started to bother you less… You might be a sportsman and realize you need knee surgery, so it’s heartbreaking, you could lose a year or two of your career.
Well, this wasn’t the first time Akshaye had addressed the issue.
Previously, during an appearance on Koffee With Karan, a media-shy Akshaye while playing the fast lap named himself when asked who had the worst hairstyle in the film industry.
Karan asked him about it, and Akshay said with a laugh, “Some people have back problems, some people have a number for their eyes, some people need hearing aids… That’s part of life is how I see it, some people I might think I’m absolutely stupid…” He admitted he was “conceited” at times, but said he wasn’t particularly bothered by her hair “It’s a small thing, for me…” he said.
Having made his film debut about 25 years ago, Akshaye is known for his roles in films such as Border (1997), Taal (1999), Dil Chahta Hai (2001), Humraaz (2002), Hungama (2003) , Hulchul (2004), Gandhi My Father (2007), Race (2008), Mom (2017), Section 375 (2020) and many more.
Currently, Akshaye is filming for Drishyam 2. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film is a sequel to the 2015 crime thriller Drishyam by Tabu and Ajay Devgn. The film is a remake of the 2021 Malayalam film of the same name, which starred Mohanlal.
