Starting Friday, July 9, the Cinema Art Theater of the Rehoboth Beach Film Society will present âQueen Bees,â a delightful romantic comedy about the young at heart.
While her house is undergoing repairs, Helen (played by Ellen Burstyn), a fiercely independent senior, temporarily moves into the nearby community center in Pine Grove. There, she meets lusty widows, fierce bridge tournaments, and a hotbed of intimidating mean girls (played by Ann-Margaret, Jane Curtain, and Loretta Divine) she hasn’t met since high school. This leaves her yearning for the solitude of the house. But somewhere between flower arranging and water aerobics, Helen discovers that it’s never too late to make new friends and maybe even find new love. The all-star cast also includes James Caan and Christopher Lloyd.
Screening hours are 3:30 p.m. on Friday July 9; 3:45 p.m., Sunday July 11; 6.30 p.m., Wednesday July 14; and 3:30 p.m., Thursday, July 15. Admission is $ 8 for members and $ 11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online at rehobothfilm.com. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater from 30 minutes before each screening.
