Prey is now streaming on Hulu, and it was the hottest topic among moviegoers this weekend. At the time of this writing, the most recent Predator the movie is on rotten tomatoes with a critics score of 93% and an audience score of 82%. ComicBook.comSpencer Perry gave the film a 4 out of 5 and called it the franchise’s “best entry” since the original. There have been plenty of tweets praising the film’s star, Amber Midthunder (Naru), but she’s not the only one loved by fans. Another star of the cast is Coco, the dog who plays Sarii, Naru’s faithful companion. Many people have taken to social media to express their love for Sarii who is a very, very good girl. Before you check out some of the Sarii tweets, here’s what Minthunder and director Dan Trachtenberg had to say about working with Coco…
“She was kind of a disaster,” Midthunder admitted while speaking to Dexerto. “She was a little messy, but in a sweet way.” She added that Coco was “not a movie dog”. Midthunder explained, “She was literally adopted to be in this movie, and she happened to be very energetic.”
Trachtenberg added, “It’s always a heart-pounding moment for us on set: ‘Is Coco going to love and make her mark and do what she needs to do?'” Despite the fact that he can sometimes be difficult to work with animals, it’s clear the people involved had a lot of love for the puppy.
“It was sometimes a journey to get there, but ultimately she always made it. It was very exciting, lots of cheering when we finally got a good grip with Coco.” He added: “Everyone, while we were developing it and showing the cuts to our friends and family, was like, ‘No more dog! We love dog!’ I was like, ‘You don’t get it. We use every usable image of this dog.'”
“A big part of being around Coco was that she was going wild and doing tricks and so excited to see everyone all the time. For me, personally, she was a dream come true. To make a movie, you know. Sarii’s character is very different from Coco’s character, it shows how good a filmmaker Dan is.
