In the trailer, Hulk forms she-Hulk and begins by suggesting balance. They train on an island and end up fighting sometimes. She breaks the fourth wall to speak to the public and Bruce Banner is caught off guard.
Secret Invasion is next. Cobie Smulders promises it will be “darker” than we’re used to. “It’s going to be an exciting thriller and you’ll never really know who the people are. Are they Skrulls? Are they human? It was so much fun to shoot and I can’t wait to see it.” She continues to compliment Samuel L. Jackson and loved her time working with him. She also compliments the rest of the cast.
Secret Invasion footage is released. Nick Fury emerges from the light of a ship. He returns to Earth and has not responded to Maria Hill’s cries for help. He tells her it’s different. Fury wants to take “them” in line. A motorcade returned. A look at Emilia Clarke. Talos wants to know what the Skulls want from Nick Fury and it’s not revealed in the trailer.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the next step. “We can finally spend time in the quantum realm,” says Peyton Reed. The film will introduce new characters and explore the quantum realm, “which isn’t quite what you think it is.”
Rudd is asked about Scott Lang’s current status. “Scott is pretty happy with himself and his role in saving the universe,” Rudd said. “So Scott has calmed down a bit. He’s been busy at work with a little book. I don’t know what else I’m supposed to say.”
Lilly is asked about Hope. “I think what’s really going on about having her on screen in the costume from the second movie…now we can explore her vulnerabilities and her frailties and the ways she has to deal with those things and deal with those things. Being a powerful woman is only impressive if you do it against really tough odds because it’s going to be really fun.”
Kathryn Newtown is welcome to Hall H, the new Cassie Lang. “Cassie is becoming who she’s meant to be,” she said. “You can see that in there and I don’t mean anything.
Footage from the third Ant-Man movies. Scott Lang reads excerpts from his book to a crowd. He hasn’t been in action for a while. Jail calls his phone. He picks up Cassie Lang from the prison / He wants her help but he doesn’t want her to ruin his life. He talks about saving the world and Hank Pym calls him out for constantly pointing it out, which Janet and Hope also chime in. “You are an interesting man, Scott Lang,” Kang said. “”You wasted a lot of time but time, it’s not what you think. It’s not a straight line. Something in a lab explodes and begins sucking them all into the Quantum Realm. They all end up in the other world, navigating it in new costumes. Bill Murray introduces himself and he knows Janet. “Whatever you hold onto, whatever you call life, I know how it ends,” Kang says. Scott tells him he made a mistake because he’s an Avengers. “Are you an Avenger?” Kang asks. “Have I killed you already?”
Feige completes the The ant Man party saying that this movie is the first Phase 5 movie for a reason, “and his name is Jonathan Majors.”
The next step is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. “Exactly 10 years ago this week, I flew to Wilmington, North Carolina, where [Kevin Feige was] filming Iron Man 3,” Gunn said. There he launched Guardians of the Galaxy. “That was the start of that journey. I fell in love with these characters. They’re not really superheroes… they’ve saved the universe many times, but what they really do is save each other… When I started telling this story , I had some sort of end in sight… That’s the end of this story. Some stories have an end, it doesn’t mean that everyone dies.”
Footage from Guardians 3 shows the Guardians being captured by Ravagers and Nebula revealing that they have a date with Gamora. Peter Quill is caught off guard. Peter reflects on their time together. “You were everything to me,” he said. “I thought you were gone but you’re here and I miss you.” Gamora tells her that person wasn’t her. We have our first look at Adam Warlock. An adult Groot fights back to back with Quill. Chukwudi appears. The Guardians float on a space planet. Gamora ends the trailer by calling Quill by the wrong name and refusing it. The Guardians joke about Quill for talking to him so intimately over an open comm line and they always listened. It ends with Mantis asking what we know about Rocket. A photo of a very young Rocket Raccoon takes to the screen. Much of the trailer was set to “Do You Realize” by Flaming Lips.
“He was the saddest creature in the universe and that’s a lot of what this story is about,” Gunn said of exploring Rocket’s origins.
Pratt is asked where Star-Lord is. “We’re all having a moment to ourselves [watching the trailer]” Pratt said. He gets emotional as he thanks Gunn. “The pain of [losing Gamora] is a big part of his journey,” Pratt said. I guess it’s safe to say that this opens up a vulnerability for the Guardians of the Galaxy to danger. He spends the movie trying to make up for the mistake of being controlled, buried under this enormous amount of pain.”
Gillan teases a nebula with a certain levity. Thanos’ removal from the photo brought him some peace. Klementieff is asked about Mantis. Sean Gunn is questioned about being Kraglin from the start. “The truth is, the most rewarding part was working with my brother,” he said, holding back tears. “It develops over the course of three movies. It got to a point where it’s not just about the joy of working with him. It’s about the joy of working with other people. We were legitimately choked up watching behind the scenes… We f- I’m sorry but we do. We care. It extends to all of us. It extends to all of us.
Will Poulter is asked about Warlock. “Pretty surreal to have ever walked on the Guardians set,” he said. “I was welcomed into the family and couldn’t have been treated better…I’m also very grateful that there was an appetite for Adam from the fans. James and everyone at Marvel gave me the opportunity and I’m super, super grateful to be here.”
Maria Bakalova will play Cosmo the Space Dog. “She’s going to bring a lot of laughs and love and a little bit of conflict, I hope,” she said.
Gunn cuts everyone off and calls for the crowd to watch to the side of the room. The Evolutionary High is here! Chukwudi Iwuji enters Hall H fully dressed in High Evolutionary. “I’ve had a lot of crazy things that have come down on me in those 6 years,” Gunn said. “I love you, sincerely… It was an amazing act with all of our hearts and I can’t wait for you to see it.”
Phase 6 of the MCU will culminate with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Ryan Coogler takes the stage after a musical performance. The cast joins him. It also introduces new cast members, including Mabel Cardena, Aleks Alifirenko, Mchaela Cole, Dominique Thorne, and Tenoch Huerta. The film features Namora, Attuma, Ironheart, and Namor. “We’re seeing more of Wakanda,” Lupita Nyongo said. “The world of Wakanda is expanding and you have a lot to look forward to.” Wright says it’s a blessing to be back in Wakanda.
Kasumba says that returning to Wakanda, “is like coming home”, and notes how the first film has them so close to each other. Duke says he is filled with “so much gratitude” to be here and promises the film “came with so much love”, both in front of and behind the camera.
“It’s kind of like the first moment to process the entirety of the making of the movie,” Cole said. “Seeing this audience reminds me of the times I went to see Black Panther… There’s something very unique about the movie that the movie does to the audience. The energy is so unfamiliar to me. I think there’s something to do with a black superhero dressed by black superheroes and what it does…reminds me of what an honor it was to support this cast in the second iteration of Black Panther…to be a supporting role in a very sensitive and delicate.
Thorne makes his MCU debut with this film. “I think we all know that the impact BP1 has had on the world is indelible. It’s indescribable. It is physical, emotional and above all spiritual. I think being able to be a part of that by coming back to the screen and being a part of that by showing this beautiful new young spirit and also doing all of this in the middle of highlighting these great stories from this very necessary point of view, it’s is a blessing, it is a gift.”
