Hyderabad: Sep 03 (ANI): Filmmaker Karan Johar on Friday urged everyone to start treating Indian cinema as one industry rather than dividing it into different categories.
Karan delivered an important message for all at a ‘Brahmastra’ press event in Hyderabad. He said Indian cinema should be treated like the Indian film industry and not like Bollywood or Tollywood.
“We are trying, on our small scale, to reach every corner (of the country with our film). As Mr. SS Rajamouli said, it is Indian cinema. give a wood… Bollywood,
Tollywood. We are no longer in the woods, we are out of them. We are a proud part of Indian cinema. Every film will now be from Indian cinema,” he stressed.
Earlier in April 2022, ‘KGF’ star Yash also asked everyone to stop categorizing Indian cinema into subcategories.
“I think people have evolved. It is high time to understand that this is an industry and to stop categorizing it. After that, so many things changed. If it hadn’t changed, people wouldn’t have accepted it (pan-Indian films with stars from different film industries) in such a way,” he said, referring to the release of his film. “KGF 2” and SS Rajamouli. magnum opus ‘RRR’.
