Iconic TV and Movie Memorabilia Auctioned | Entertainment


A collection of iconic television and film memorabilia is up for auction. Organized by Propstore, over 1,800 plays from famous movies and TV series will go under the hammer. Along with hauling famous movie and TV collectibles, the auction includes more than 200 comic book and art lots. The most valuable item – expected to sell for between $800,000 and $1 million – is the screen-matching miniature model ILM Red Leader X-wing starfighter that featured in the 1977 film Star Wars: A New Hope Among other highlights include Tom Hanks Wilson’s personified friend the volleyball that featured in the 2000 film Cast Away as well as Will Smith’s boxing shorts from the 2001 film Ali. Uma Thurman’s bloody samurai sword from Kill Bill, Chris Hemsworth’s Mjölnir hammer from the 2011 Marvel film Thor and a life-size replica of the DeLorean time machine previously used for official promotional events for the film trilogy Back to the future. Marty McFly’s hoverboard from the second film in the series is also up for sale. Also in the auction are Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi lightsaber from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and Johnny Depp’s SFX insertion hand from Edward Scissorhands. The auction will take place over four days from June 21-24 in Los Angeles.
