Although Mallika has been in the industry for about 20 years and has acted in many films of different genres, she is mostly remembered for her glamorous roles. However, with RK/RKayMallika has made it clear that she wants to get rid of the image people have had of her for so many years.

In an exclusive interview with Times now digitalMallika revealed that she always wanted to play different types of roles, but the filmmakers never came to her with serious characters.
“I wish more filmmakers would write roles like Gulabo and more filmmakers would cast me in those roles. It’s not as if I never wanted to play serious roles, the filmmakers never offered me any. I always wanted to play different roles. I did movies like Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Welcome and Dasavatharam,” Mallika told us.
She continued, “But I think OTT is a game changer when it comes to actresses. It’s a very exciting space and all kinds of plays are written for women. The best part is that the audience accepts the actresses in these parts. Take Delhi Crime for example.
Speaking about his experience working with Rajat, who wrote and directed RK/RKay, she said, “I am a big fan of Rajat Kapoor. Ankhon Dekhi is everyone’s favorite. I always wanted to work with him but it only took him 20 years to cast me in his film! It’s every actor’s dream to work with him.”
Next, Mallika will be seen in a web series titled Bouncer Nagar which is led by Mirzapur fame Gurmeet Singh.
