Hindi version of RRR is the most popular Indian film on Netflix globally, according to the streamer

Netflix said on Thursday that the Hindi version of SS Rajamouli’s period action epic “RRR” has become “the most popular Indian film” on the streamer globally. The Hindi-dubbed version of the Telugu-language film arrived on Netflix on May 20, two months after its theatrical release worldwide.

According to the streaming platform, the movie “RRR” (Hindi), which has a running time of 3 hours and 2 minutes, has been viewed for “more than 45 million hours” across the world.

“RRR is now the most popular Indian film on Netflix globally,” Netflix announced on Twitter.

The film, which has been identified as a pan-Indian film also dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, tells a fictional pre-independence story woven around two real Indian revolutionaries in the 1920s – Alluri Sitarama Raju, played by Ram Charan, and Komaram Bheem. , written by NT Rama Rao Jr.

‘RRR’, also one of the most successful Indian films of 2022, fetched over Rs 1,200 crore at the global box office.


It received mainly positive reviews for Rajamouli’s execution of his grand vision, gravity-defying action stunts, performances by leading men and the song “Naacho Naacho” (or “Naatu Naatu” in Telugu), written by Mr. M. Keeravani.

Also starring Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in key roles, the film was released in IMAX, IMAX 3D, 3D and Dolby Cinema.

Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions of “RRR” began airing on ZEE5 from May 20.
