Arbaaz Khan has managed to establish himself not only as an actor but also as a successful filmmaker in the Indian entertainment industry. As he now prepares for his son Arhaan Khan’s acting debut in the film industry, he explained that he would not pressure him to carry on their family’s legacy.
Arbaaz Khan is currently catching fans’ attention with his latest action thriller web series Tanaav which premiered on SonyLiV on November 11, 2022. The series also features other renowned actors namely Danish Husain, Ekta Kaul, Satyadeep Mishra, Manav Vij, MK Raina, Rajat Kapoor, Shashank Arora, Sumit Kaul, Sukhmani Sadana, etc.
In a recent chat with ETimes, Arbaaz Khan explained how parents should not influence their children in their decisions. He added that a parent’s disapproval may disgust the child at some point in their life and they may end up feeling that their parents have not let them explore their life.
Arbaaz said, “If Arhaan comes to me with something, and then if I say ‘No, why are you doing this? You should do that instead.” He will listen but he will be afraid for life. The thing is, when you have that power, you have to know how to use it. Because they are vulnerable at that time. If I say ‘No, you won’t be an actor’. I will crush his dreams. Hearing my instinctive disapproval might disgust him at some point in his life. He might end up feeling like his father didn’t let him explore his life.
Arbaaz further spoke about Arhaan saying that if something motivates him or he is passionate about something then it will work and as a father he will never let him carry the supposed legacy of being from the past. ‘Film Industry.
“If something motivates him, if he’s passionate about it, it can be anything – if he wants to be a chef – it will work. Tomorrow, if he comes and says, ‘I’m really passionate about starting a restaurant. I want to be a chef,” I will never let him carry this supposed legacy, of being from the film industry, about his grandfather coming from the film industry. There is no pressure. I just let him,” added Arbaaz Khan.
