After writing and directing Luz, Tilman Singer’s latest horror movie, Hello, recently completed production. With filming now complete, NEON has also shared a first look at the film, which teases a terrifying scene.
Specific plot details for the upcoming horror movie remain under wraps as filming has wrapped after filming in Germany on 35mm film. With post-production underway, NEON has provided a first look at the film, which features Schafer in his film debut. The image depicts Schafer’s character with a bandage wrapped around her head as she tries to hide from a masked figure who is most likely trying to kill her. While it’s unclear who or what she’s hiding from, the image presents an exciting experience for horror fans when the film debuts next year.
Hunter Schaferwho recently won acclaim for her role in Euphoriawill star in the film in his feature debut. Dan Steve (i am your man) joins the cast of the film alongside Jessica Henwick (The Matrix Resurrections), Marton Csokas (The equalizer), and Greta Fernandez (A thief’s daughter). Actor John Bluthhardt will appear in the film after collaborating with Singer on Luz. The photography of the film is carried out by Paul Faltz, with production design by Dario Mendez Acosta. The music for the film will be composed by Simon Waskow with Henning Huh returns as sound designer. It was previously announced that John Malkovich, Sophie Boutellaand Gemma Chan joined the cast, but now it appears that is no longer the case.
Next to HelloSchafer will also play in the hunger games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Serpentswhich will be released on November 17, 2023. Schafer also wrote and co-produced an episode of Euphoria, in which she also plays the role of Jules Vaughn. With an up-and-coming writer and director leading an acclaimed studio alongside emerging talent at Schafer, Hello is shaping up to be a new movie for horror fans to watch when it releases in 2023.
Written and directed by Singer, Cuckoo is produced by Tom Quinn, Jeff Deutschman, Emily Thomasand Ryan Curly from NEON. Producers of the film include Markus Halberschmidt, Josh Rosenbaum, Maria Tsigkaand Ken Kao, thor bradwell and Ben Rimer in a collaboration between FICTION PARK and Waypoint Entertainment.
