The international festival has become an indicator of what’s to come in the race for the Oscars for cinema.
cameraimage announced earlier than Sam Mendes‘ Empire of Light, photographed by Roger Deakins, will open the 2022 edition to be held November 12-19 in Toruń, Poland. Mendes will also receive the Krzysztof Kieslowski Special Director’s Award during the festival.
Also previously announced, Oscar-nominated cinematographer Stephen Burum (Hoffa) will receive the Camerimage Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s festival.
