Looking for something to do this week? Sample beers from over 50 breweries at Augusta Beerfest. The world famous tunes and vibes of Pink Floyd will be performed by a renowned tribute band. For movie buffs, there are two film festivals, the Black Cat Picture Show and the Christian Georgia Film Festival, which showcase a variety of movies and other entertainment. Those who need a laugh can also visit several comedy shows. There are also several food truck nights and craft markets that allow residents to purchase meals and products made by local creators. Augusta Oktoberfest
The 8th Annual Augusta Beerfest returns at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 20 at the James Brown Arena at 601 Seventh St. in Augusta. Breweries from across the United States will be visiting to offer guests over 125 beer variations. Some of the brewers include Augusta’s Savannah River Brewing Co., Alpharetta’s Jekyll Brewing, and Statesboro’s Eagle Creek Brewing Company.
General Admission ticket holders will receive a souvenir tasting mug, with which they can sample as much beer as they wish. Designated drivers enter for free. Admission is restricted to those aged 21 and over. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online at augustaentertainmentcomplex.com.
Performances
The Tribute Band Brit Floyd will bring the sights and sounds of Pink Floyd to the Bell Auditorium at 712 Telfair St. at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17. -one minute note-for-note performance of “Echoes”. Grantski Records hosts a concert series, with the next show featuring metal bands at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 20 at the Record Store at 1151 Broad St. in Augusta. comedy shows
Atlanta comedian Adam Murray, who gave South Aiken High School a retro shoutout in ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4, will perform a comedy show for the benefit of the school at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 19 at the Amentum Center for the Performing Arts at 126 Newberry St. SW in downtown Aiken. Murray will be joined by two other comedians he has chosen to play with him: Jimmy Fontaine and Alyx Libby, also from Atlanta. Admission is limited to 18 years and older. Film festivals
The 8th Annual Black Cat Picture Showan international independent film festival, will be back from Thursday August 18 to Sunday August 21 at The black Cat at 304 Eighth St. in Augusta. More than 40 feature films, documentaries, animations and other productions will be screened throughout the festival, culminating in an awards ceremony on Sunday. Georgia Christian Film Festival is Thursday, August 18 through Saturday, August 20 at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel at 2651 Perimeter Parkway in Augusta. Food truck festivals
Mayor-Elect Garnett Johnson and Host Committee Food Truck Fridays return from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, August 19, outside Johnson’s political headquarters at 4102 Windsor Spring Road in Hephzibah. In addition to a variety of food trucks, there will be live music and family activities. Free entry.

Craft markets
Augusta Handmade Fair Night Market is from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 20 at the Doris Building at 930 Broad St. in Augusta. Local vendors will sell their handmade creations, including food and gifts, with live musical accompaniment. All proceeds will go to the Redemption Church Youth Group.
Harlem Java House hosts a “Back to school craft market” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 20 at the cafe at 211 North Louisville St. in Harlem.
Family Fun Events
The Augusta History Museum “Family Fun Day: Games of the Past” is from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 21.
