The Cannes Film Festival celebrates its 75th edition this year, and the Indian contingent came out in large numbers this year. As the Festival returned to the South of France to celebrate films from around the world, it brought with it an array of members and personalities from film and media. Over the years, the Cannes red carpet has seen many fashion moments become synonymous with the iconography of the event. Once again this year, the presence of celebrities on the red carpet has become a highlight of the occasion. Many Indian celebrities and influencers were spotted at the event. The first member of the jury, Deepika Padukone, wore a personalized Sabyasachi couture saree, sending followers into a tizzy on the World Wide Web. Other Cannes veterans and regulars who joined this year included Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui among others.

After her many appearances as a L’Oréal brand ambassador in Cannes, Deepika Padukone joined the prestigious list of jury members this year. The actress gave a special nod to her Indian roots as she donned a personalized Sabyasachi saree on the red carpet. Inspired by the Bengal tiger, the embellished saree featured the stripes in shades of black and gold.
