Oak Creek Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday during a screening of “Black Adam” at the South Shore Cinema. Police report they responded to an incident inside the cinema after two groups of individuals physically fought over disturbances during a movie. A 19-year-old man was reportedly stabbed several times in the back and neck. He was hospitalized by the Oak Creek Fire Department and is currently in stable condition. “The incident started when one group was allegedly loud/noisy in the movie theater. Another group became offended and an argument ensued. Eventually a physical confrontation occurred in the theater and s ‘spread in the hallway outside the theater,’ police told WISN 12 News. . The emergency dispatchers could be heard calling for medical help. “PD at scene indicates bleeding is under control. Patient is conscious and breathing. Parent is applying pressure to wound at this time,” according to those radio calls. Witnesses who spoke to WISN 12 News described a violent melee. Police say a 29-year-old man had his lip split in two but refused to seek treatment. Mike Olszewski, a theater lover, said: “To do violence to someone for something so insignificant? It’s like there’s no basis with people. And people get into something so simple.” Gary Holloway said he wouldn’t hesitate to return for a movie, but suggested unresolved mental health issues were at play. “I think that’s more important than just people’s anger. I think that people have a lot to do inside, and we sometimes overlook things, so anything can happen,” Holloway said. Three people, aged 20 to 28, have been taken into custody, police said. None of the victims have been arrested. The case will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for formal charges.
